  • Why should we hire you?
There are a lot of great college advisors out there, so it’s about finding the right fit for you. I will not disclose how many Ivy League student admissions I have worked with or the full-ride scholarships I have assisted students in applying for, for example, because I am not selling the Ivory Tower dream. I am here to provide support: 100% wrap-around support during an incredibly stressful time. I am the right choice if you want an advisor or a mentor, someone who is willing to ask you tough questions so that you can make honest, informed decisions. I will hold you accountable, help you stay on top of deadlines, and take on research if you hate to do your own. My master’s degree is focused on higher education and I have studied colleges and universities extensively. More importantly, I studied student development theory, and that means I focus on helping you find the right fit for YOU. There is nothing wrong with going to an Ivy League school (they are at the top for a reason), but my advising style is getting you into the right school, not the “it” school.
  • Who do you work with?
I work with students 10th-12th graders located within the United States and I can start with a student any point of their high school career. It is never too early or too late. At this time I do not work with international students or students wanting to attend a performing arts school as both fields are not my speciality.
  • How do you meet with students?
Depending on the location of the student I offer either in person or virtual visits.
  • Can you guarantee I will get into my dream school?
No. I do not personally work at any higher education institution, so I cannot guarantee admission. My goal as your advisor is to assist you in submitting your best application possible, coaching you through common mistakes, and making sure that you feel confident in your application.
  • Can you help me improve my SAT/ACT score?
Maybe yes, maybe no. What I will do is work with you to better understand how to study, when to study, and when to take the exam(s), all of which will hopefully result in an increased score. Please note: I do not perform study sessions, and I cannot guarantee an improved score.
  • Can you write my essay?
I do love to write, but the answer is no. Your essay is just that, yours. During our advising sessions, we will strategize and discuss at length which topics you should focus on and how best to construct your essay. We will then have editing sessions, during which I will provide suggestions and feedback on content, style, and grammar, but I never make the changes for you. This is your story, and I am just here to help you improve the telling of it so your audience knows exactly what you are trying to say.
  • How much does it cost to work with you?
I offer comprehensive advising packages and hourly rates depending on a student/family needs. I offer free consultations to make sure working together makes sense for your needs.
  • Do you offer refunds?
All services paid for are final and non-transferrable. There are no refunds, and all payment is required prior to services. I do my best to ensure all my clients are 100% satisfied with my services; however, my fees are tied to my work performed, not on the outcomes of services provided.
  • How do you collect payment?
Families can pay by check or by credit card and I require services to be paid for within 30 days of invoicing. Families should always communicate payment needs as I want to make services attainable for all. If you have concerns about cost please reach out.
